Employability Skills Portfolio Program

'Every job is a self- portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with excellence'.

--Author Unknown

Now available to teachers on-line

The Employability Skills Portfolio Project (ESP), sponsored by TD Canada Trust, was created by the Calgary Educational Partnership Foundation to assist students in identifying and developing skills they require to achieve future career success. This project is based on the Conference Board of Canada's Employability Skills Profile.

Each year the ESP is introduced to Junior High School students and is intended to be a working document as students complete their Junior High and High School years. The process, based upon the Conference Boards of Canada's Employability Skills Profile, is designed to help students meet the needs of their future employers and post-secondary institutions by providing guidelines to document, compile and create a portfolio.
The project is designed to:

  • Help students organize their accomplishments both inside and outside of school
  • Provide an ongoing record of skills and skill growth to assist students in developing decision-making skills, goal setting skills and self-esteem
  • Assist students to organize accomplishments and identify strengths
  • Materials are made available to the schools, now ON-LINE, in the Fall of each school year
Last year over 9,256 students in Calgary and surrounding area schools took part in this initiative

This curriculum related tool is approved by Alberta Learning, and fits into the Curriculum Area: CTS: Career Transitions (Levels 1, 2, 3)

The Employability Skills Portfolio is ONLY available on line.

The Portfolio can be downloaded in 3 chapters for your convenience, however, due to copyright laws the CEPF must ask that you register to obtain the password and so that we can record how many schools/teachers and students are using the program.
